We are pleased to announce that we have decided to extend the deadline for the call for abstracts since it has been pointed out that the original date was inconvenient for a large number of researchers from the northern hemisphere. Therefore, the new deadline for abstract submission is September 21, 2021. You can check the updated information on the website.
We all know that the climate crisis has demanded our action and commitment, and the pandemic affecting the world has just increased the sense of urgency. COVID-19 in just a few weeks, showed critical flaws in our built environment. In this crisis scenario that we are currently facing, the question that arises almost spontaneously is: What will happen to our built environment? Will cities survive as we have envisioned them for decades? Is this the last chance to effectively build, healthy, livable and equitable cities? History shows us how cities responded and changed after health crises like COVID-19. Certainly, it is time to question the way we inhabit and use the city.
In this context, on behalf of the 36th PLEA (PLEA 2022) Organizing Committee, we would like to announce the upcoming Conference to be held in Santiago, Chile on 23, 24 and 25 November 2022. The theme of the Conference is:
As we mentioned before, we expect to receive your abstracts until 21 September 2021. But if the process of overcoming the pandemic has yet not been completed by mid-2022, it will most likely turn into an online event. You will be notified in advance as soon as this can be determined.
